The Route
82km from Pontneddfechan to Hay on Wye covering approx 3000m in elevation.
Day 1. The start point. This is where the fun begins! When we have confirmed that all are ready, gear has been picked up and we’re ready to hit the road, the event will commence!
Heading off, you will embark on an approximately 30km hike, tracing a captivating trail through the picturesque heart of Brecon Beacons. The journey promises a breath-taking adventure, leading you over stunning locations that showcase the true essence of this remarkable landscape.
Starting from the trailhead, you'll venture through the striking sights of Bwa Maen and Ystradfellte St Mary, where the natural beauty is bound to captivate your senses. As the path unfolds, ascend towards the majestic heights of Fan Lila and Fan Fawr, granting you awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
Your expedition will then guide you past the renowned Storey Arms, setting the stage for an incredible adventure as you conquer the iconic peaks of Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, Cribyn, and Fan Y Big. Each step taken is a testament to your determination and spirit.
Continuing the trek, you'll traverse through Craig Cwm-Oergwm and Craig Cwareli, encountering the rugged beauty that defines the Brecon Beacons. Your day's journey will culminate as you reach Bwlch y Ddwyallt, a location filled with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the next leg of your adventure.
As the sun begins to set, your weary yet satisfied feet will carry you to Camp 1, nestled near the serene Nant Bwrefwr. Here, you'll rest, rejuvenate, and reflect on the incredible experiences of the day, preparing for what lies ahead on this remarkable odyssey. Prep your gear, check your feet, get cooking and grab yourself a beer or a brew!
Day 2. Let’s get yourselves up, nice and early. Warm yourself with a lovely morning brew, plenty of breakfast whilst soaking in the views and then get packing. Please, please, please make sure you don’t leave anything behind and ensure all rubbish is disposed of. Leave no trace and remember to adhere to The Countryside Code.

Setting off near Blaen y Glyn, you will make your way through Talybont Forest, experiencing the stunning sites of Talybont Reservoir. Pushing forward to the ascent of Tor y Foel for panoramic views before heading towards the Travellers Rest Inn. Further along the route, you will also arrive alongside the Coach & Horses Inn before hikers will cross over the bridge of River Usk and proceed through to Pen Yr Heol Las, Mynydd Llangorse, Cockit Hill, Mynydd Troed, down to the main road and into Camp 2. We know, we know, another INCREDIBLE day with unforgettable views!!
Day 3. On the third and final day of this thrilling hiking event, the adventure begins at Dragons Back, where you will be greeted by a breath-taking ridge offering stunning panoramic views. The journey continues through Bwlch Bach A'r Grib, a challenging yet rewarding terrain, and then to Lord Hereford's Knob, a prominent peak providing a sense of accomplishment and a fantastic vantage point.
As the morning progresses, the trail will lead you to Gospel Pass, surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the Brecon Beacons. You will then conquer Hay Bluff, a challenging climb amidst a rugged landscape, and relish the views from the summit.
In the late afternoon, the trail eases into a more manageable path, guiding you towards the homestretch to the finish line in Hay on Wye. This part of the hike offers a mix of rolling hills and lush meadows, providing a peaceful and scenic conclusion to the event.
On arrival to Hay on Wye, you will cross the finish line, reflecting on your journey and celebrating your accomplishments. The event concludes with a sense of camaraderie, a fancy, well-earned medal, some warm food and a sense of achievement as we come together to share our experiences and memories of this incredible hiking adventure.

Other important info
As this is a point-to-point event, transportation will be provided from Hay on Wye to the start point so for those wishing to travel to the event the night before (Thursday night), you can find accommodation in Hay on Wye, leave your vehicle in the long stay carpark on Oxford Road which is located right next to the finishing line on day 3.

Following your purchase, there are still key pieces of information we need in order to fully complete your entrance so you will receive a form to fill in via email. It shouldn't take no more than a few short minutes to complete. Please fill in and submit this form at your earliest convenience. If the form isn't complete, It may mean you cannot attend the event for health and safety reasons.

You will be prepared for the worst possible conditions and understand that parts of the event route can be very isolated and these hills are exposed to serious weather. You agree that although the organisers will ensure that the event is as safe as possible, your safety is ultimately your own personal responsibility, just as it is with any trip into the hills.
You accept full responsibility for your own safety and any injury sustained during the event. These are not the responsibility of the event organiser, their agents or the landowners. You know your limitations and are experienced enough to make a reasoned decision whether to not start the event or to retire from the event rather than jeopardise your own or other people’s safety.
